after the first big success, the second vinyl release from the young frankfurt label embi music is following now. the next artist from italy, who is not quite knowen yet will be talked about. odo makes a smile is not only the artists name, but also programm. in u got it ep he is showing his skills and the sense of music. he is combining the melody and melancholy in clubs suitable grooves. this lead also aldo cadiz to a remix and together with the molisans brothers this record will be a must have for every recordcase.

tm404 is a new concept from analogue mastermind andreas tilliander aka mokira (kontra-musik, raster-noton, type). tm404 uses a multiple set up of the classic roland machines tb-303, tb-606 and mc-202 to create a mesmerizing acidic techno-drone. tm404 will release a full-length album on kontra-musik in late january and we are very much looking forward. but before that we have another great release to present. kontra-musik 028 is by far our most radical release on so far. this is dance music really pushed the limit. what you are about to hear is the result of morphosis (morphine records) remixing tm404 using his favorite korg machines – the ms20 and the sq10. rabihs own words on the music: quite challenging and not really ordinary dance music. i believe in moving forward with things, with whatever chances and possibilities i have, it is my contribution to this world.

here is ditongos new boogie. for your family business! ditongo is the batongos alias for disco editing, less obscure, more groovy. not much is to be known about batongo, previously an active euro dance producer, released a bunch of hits in the nineties. 10 years ago, after a traumatic experience he escaped in perù and retired from the music business, during this years, on his spare time he made a lot of music, not meant for the public, just for himself. now he is still in perù, not willing to move back to europe but barely broke, he sold us the rights on his entire collection of unreleased recordings with the condition of not revealing his real identity. we will unveil a series of eps ranging from obscure deep to psychedelic disco.

nice price deal !!! aÑa / henning baer / norman nodge / musk.... no one knows exactly how, or why it happened. we can only postulate. perhaps it was rogue hydrogen atoms causing havoc again, or a particularly voracious wave of em radiation hell bent on finding a good time. the point is, (in those days) such lude behavior was simply unacceptable: aÑa had become excited, too much so for the solar stiffs that swirled about her. and that system of hers—always buzzing around, refusing to share anything—it had to go. so both were exiled from that collision patch they called home, leaving aÑa and her system to wander the cosmos. some years passed. aÑa grew a little, but mostly she practiced her basswalk—not this girly swooshy thing with your hips, but a real bolshy bovver boot stomp. after a while she got pretty good at it, she wanted to show her friends. maybe theyd like to basswalk too. well, they couldnt get enough of it—but no one did it quite like aÑa. henning baers had a bit more groove to it and this whole new tweaky hat element. norman nodge kept his pretty punchy, but all that time spent in berghain had turned his basswalk into a bit of a skulk. as for musk, the boys inverted the whole thing of course—turned a disco trick, shifting the march down into more of a slinky house glide. aÑa liked them all so much—and it was time isolated system stopped being such a separatist—she decided to gather them all together to make basswalker part i. now you can basswalk too

great dont techno 4 tracker... new moves from cursor, ben pest & jerome hill ... cursor miner has built a solid reputation over the years for being a free thinker in the world of techno, breaks and bass music, and here for dont he delivers the massive >nonon<. with early support from perc, the track has to be heard to understand... it lures you into a trance then thunderous spastikesque drums pummel the listener into submission. in one word, classic. plus you get palinki, a warped techno bouncer. on the flip, another freethinker, ben pest treats us to >yam um sugli<, with deranged synths and drums practically oozing funk, this sounds like nothing else on the planet.. which is what dont is all about! finally, label boss jerome hill steps up to give a reworking to the aptly named >rumbler<, an intense techno bruiser!

according to legend, although the velvet undergrounds debut lp only sold about 100 copies when it was originally released, every one who did buy a copy were inspired enough to form their own band.

menacing industrial techno from some backwoods laboratory in a hostile environment. limited to 200 as usual, handstamped. they sell like frankfurters at a german brothel, so best not sleep. you have about a week before the curtain closes.

paper recordings continue their journey back to plastic with another vinyl release once again proving why they remain one of uks best loved labels. jamie l is a mysterious figure of undisclosed origin and history who fits in to the moodymann / theo parrish mold of heavy future disco, which his new production >(what we saw) in the burg< nails. it is a heavy leftfield groove laid over broken house beats with a filtered bass, samples and leftfield vibe. the detroit pad creeps up to the break and filters in and out as the track works its way through for locked down dance floor business. next up, havana candy breaks out the analogue and takes things deeper and techier. with a rolling bass and tweaking acid line, it cuts to a rhodes before filtering down and riding back to the heads down groove. cottam steps up for paper for the first time and demonstrates what all the fuss is about with a very special mix. clocking in at 9.41 it is deep, tough soulful house that crosses the 4/4 divide from techno to disco and deep house to soul.

wonder & amazement is a record ive had in various forms and incarnations from ex chicken lips members steve kotey & andy meecham for about a year now – a song that immediately grabbed me from the very first moment i heard it. reminiscent of days gone by mixed with a touch of the new - a song that contains a mixture of both the old classic and the new classic. ive been championing it for a while now either in sets or charts, even including it on a recent compilation i did. a record that we are proud to be able to use as a soundtrack to this new era of classic.

fascinating, tantalizing, mesmerizing release by our new kid on the block, leipizigs upcoming philipp matalla, known for his resident nights at local distillery. reduced and touching but full of sparkling moments and deliberate deep warmth and always with a definite eye on the floor this elusive ep will be come a steady contender in finest sets and record collections. the ubertrack is propably line ten with his irresistible slightly off piano and xylophone flow that simply builds forever and a day. so cool! final mixdown and horns on space line by prins thomas.

six artists remix the rich sound material from sven kacireks lp >scarlet pitch dreams< (pingipung 32, april 2012). svens original percussion recordings and his densely layered melodies invite for a rework which fo- cuses on the single elements. robert lippok (to rococo rot, raster noton) turns the title track into a balearic sunshine dance until the voice and synthlines evoke a deep and driving witchhouse at- mosphere. absolutely awesome remix! opiate aka thomas knak from denmark (morr music) is one of pingipungs favourite artists in the world and we are very happy to have his remix included here. his highly individual syncopating beat works dive into the pool of svens percussions, with the snare and marimba always in the foreground.

4th release by 12records, presenting the new deep88 >removing dust< ep (taken from the forthcoming >removing dust< album that will be released later on this year). main single is a2 >the vibe<, a classic 90s beat made over a real melody, where vocals parts crossover and match each others, in two differents peaks, to create a whole >vibe< flow from the start till the end of the song. a1 is a test signal experiment, where samples take a different level, a sort of meta sample, a sample into a sample… well, have a listen, its easier to understand that way. bside is 3 tracks long, not a common practice in todays ep releases. b1 >grancartridge<, a moodymann house style raw song, b2 is even more raw sampling style, meanwhile b3 is a dreamy vocal house tune more common to deep88s style. the result is a mature ep, that ntroduces the 2nd deep88 album, always on 12records, and that will bring him into that >serious< realm of making house that is seen in some elite today (funny isn’t it… at the end it is just about music and we all have ears… maybe)... btw less marketing on our head, this 12inch wont be a coloured or hand written limited release, just the good old classic black one (yes it sounds better folks) and no limited copies… when is close to finish we will repress as usual.

catching the last rays of summer! here comes a sun drenched piece of music from tobias linden & riccardo rizza, just in time for closing parties all over. the boys hung out in tobias stockholm studio after a gig together and in a couple of days the song came about. writing was like one fluid motion they say, listen and we think you will feel the energy flow effortlessly quality sunshine music!

surely not is a brilliant house number with moodyman indebted drum pattern based around a soul edged vocal sample which unfolds into a deep late night groover. this is an essential release for detroit aficionados. on the flipside earl goes in with british knights a frenetic subloaded tribal number with a lot of swagger and the odd nod to classic todd edwards and afrika bambaataa along the way. this one is all about the stabbing repetition and the infectious bass line that builds and builds euphorically until it drops into a rhythm track that commands the hips to move and the fist to punch the sky.

foam fangs could be a term used to describe silks preferred take on that too-easily dismissed 70s dancefloor dementia of disco – the soft bite, love nibble, mirrorball on steady/ready perma-revolve. jesse reiner (jonas reinhardts first mister, alongside past/part-time collaborators like phil manley of trans am and damon palermo of mi ami/magic touch), who never quite had the kranky krinkle of his ohm-ambient labelmates, travels head-on, tomorrowland-style, through long-form cosmic moroder constellations of >foam fangs<. nothing frothy about it, though there is a bit of the rubbery in reiner’s bounce-about, cool, funky kraut-disco. suddenly we are beaming back to a time when the world looked forward, envisioning a 21st century decked with silver, chrome, and neoprene. it is a sonic space both transparent and shiny, the metallic ding and cold ribbon of data, scrolling through infinite space. the opener, >foam fangs<, transports us instantly into an ever-expanding universe of sound and light at once fanning out and folding in on itself. variations on that theme continue as the jonas journey oscillates through the beat-beyond.

rodrigo is the latest member of the rationalism family. based on la rioja, argentina rodrigo works with an outstanding ammount of knowledge about electronic music and what makes it so special. motor city vision is an interpretation of detroit house at his core, coming from a character far awaytowards south. arol remix adds the flavour and energy to create a dancefloor based tune with this detroitesque feeling with current sounds. vocals, mental synthline creating wet housy nightclubbing feelings.

groove heavy synth funk reminiscent of dmx krew and dreamy string- laden rhythms suggestive of standout tracks on carl craigs >more songs about food and revolutionary art< occupy side a. the flip side is filled with deeper dance floor friendly tracks sonically reminiscentof the transmat catalog along with an injection of uptempo tech-house swing elements evocative of akufens >skidoos<.
recorded in the winter of 2011 in metro detroit, >more than a marathon< marks the debut release for super public. predominantly re- corded with analog hardware, the ep has an innate familiarity while still maintaining a focus on the 2012 marketplace. rudi thornburgh has been independently producing electronic music for over 10 years under various names but, most notably, clocklife. brett cimbalik has been playing jazz guitar for the better part of his music career and has transferred his chordal knowledge to synth guitar and electronic production. together, they form a sound reminiscent of the golden days of detroit techno while still exploring new terrain and bridging new ideas.
